December 25, 2022

This release is like no other. We’re concluding 2022 with a mega release full of epic features, like the introduction of three new editors. More surprises are waiting for you so keep on reading!

New editors (Beta)

Point Cloud (Beta)

You’ve read that right! SuperAnnotate now has a Point Cloud Editor (LiDar)! You can get a detailed view of your 3D point data and create accurate annotations for even the most challenging use cases.

Tiled Imagery (Beta)

With the Tiled Imagery Editor, you can upload and annotate multilayered images. You can also still do that in the Image Editor. A multilayered image is an image that consists of multiple layers. Think of it as several images combined into one image. You might need to work with multilayered images when you need several references of the same image to achieve higher annotation accuracy. This is applicable for annotating aerial and satellite imagery. For instance, you can upload an image consisting of 3 layers: SAR (synthetic aperture radar imagery), IR (infrared satellite imagery), and RGB.

Other (Beta)

With this editor, you can classify PDFs, HTML files, and websites.

Image Editor

SuperAnnotate had two types of image editors: Pixel and Vector. The Pixel Editor has been renamed Image Legacy Editor and the Vector Editor has been renamed Image Editor.

Video/Audio Editor

The Video Editor was renamed Video or Audio Editor as it now supports audio annotation. You can now annotate and classify the following audio data types: MP3, WAV, and OGG.

Insights (Beta)

You can now visualize the data trends and distribution of your dataset health and annotation team performance. You can also compare different subsets of data and use filters to deep dive into the most relevant dataset. This will help you improve your dataset's quality and enhance the efficiency of your annotation team.

Pipelines

Pipelines is a brand new feature that allows you to send real-time data from SuperAnnotate to your application whenever a specific event happens. The events concern the following objects: projects, exports, folders, and items. The event can be one of the following actions: creating, updating (annotation/approval status), deleting, or making modifications to an assignment.

Other changes and improvements

  • You can now upload DICOM files to Image Projects.
  • SDK changelog
