Export the data of Image Projects and Image (Legacy) Projects

There are two download formats for Image Projects and Image (Legacy) Projects: SuperAnnotate and COCO.

Export in the SuperAnnotate format

To export the data of a Image Projects and Image (Legacy) Projects in the SuperAnnotate format:

  1. Go to the Downloads tab in FineTune.
  2. Click Prepare Download.
  3. Under Formats, choose SuperAnnotate (mandatory).
  4. Check fused Include fused images if you want to include fused images in your download (optional).
  5. Check the Pinned items box to include pinned items in your download (optional).
  6. Choose to download items by their status. Check the boxes to do so. For example, if you check the Not Started box, only the items with the Not Started status will be downloaded (optional). If you don't check any box, then all the items will be downloaded, regardless of their status.
  7. Click Prepare.
  8. When the download is complete, a folder will be available. Download that folder.

SuperAnnotate download folder

The downloaded folder contains the following items:

  • Classes JSON
  • Original images (if Include fused images is enabled)
  • Annotations JSON
  • JSON
  • Fused images (if Include fused images is enabled)
  • Blue masks (for Image (Legacy) Projects only)
  • Folder (if available)
    • Annotation JSON
    • Fused images (if Include fused images is enabled)
    • Original images (if Include fused images is enabled)
    • Blue masks (for Image (Legacy) Projects only)

A folder will only be exported if it contains images that have the image status or image statuses indicated in the download settings. The exported folder will only contain the relevant images.

Export in the COCO format

To export the data of a Image Projects and Image (Legacy) Projects in the COCO format:

  1. Go to the Downloads tab in FineTune.
  2. Click Prepare Download.
  3. Under Formats, choose COCO (mandatory).
  4. Check the Pinned items box to include pinned items in your download (optional).
  5. Choose to download the images by task type. Check the boxes to do so. Learn more.
  6. Click Prepare.
  7. When the download is complete, a folder will be available. Download that folder.

Task types

  • Object detection: When you choose the Object Detection task type, only Bounding Boxes will be downloaded.
  • Instance segmentation: When you choose the Instance Segmentation task type, Bounding Boxes and Polygons will be downloaded according to instance segmentation principles.
  • Panoptic segmentation: When you choose the Panoptic Segmentation task type, Bounding Boxes and Polygons will be downloaded according to panoptic segmentation principles.

🚧

  • You can check one task type at a time. Only completed images can be converted into the COCO format.
  • If the completed images are in a folder, the export will contain the annotations of the completed images only.

COCO download folder

The downloaded folder contains the following items:

  • Annotations JSON
  • Annotations JSON (for folders, if available)
  • Blue masks (Instance segmentation only)

The rotated boxes are skipped during the COCO conversion.

Export the data of Video Projects

To export the data of a Video or Audio Project:

  1. Go to the Downloads tab in FineTune.
  2. Click Prepare Download.
  3. You can choose to download items by their status. Check the boxes to do so. For example, if you check the Not Started box, only items with the Not Started status will be downloaded (optional). If you don't check any box, then all the items will be downloaded, regardless of their status.
  4. Click Prepare.
  5. When the download is complete, a folder will be available. Download that folder.

The downloaded folder contains the following items:

  • Classes JSON
  • Video or Audio JSON
  • Folder(s) (if applicable)

Export the data of Text Projects

To export the data of a Text Project:

  1. Go to the Downloads tab in FineTune.
  2. Click Prepare Download.
  3. You can choose to download the documents by their status: Not Started, In Progress, Completed, Quality check, Returned, and Skipped. Check the boxes to do so (optional). If you don't check any box, then all the items will be downloaded, regardless of their status.
  4. Click Prepare.
  5. When the download is complete, a folder will be available. Download that folder.

The downloaded folder contains the following items:

  • Classes JSON
  • Document JSON
  • Folder(s) (if applicable)

🚧

A folder will only be exported if it contains documents that have the document status(s) indicated in the download settings. The exported folder will only contain the relevant document(s).

Delete download folder

To delete a download folder:

  1. Go to the Downloads tab in FineTune.
  2. Click the delete button that corresponds to the download folder you want to delete.
  3. In the popup, click Delete. Note that you can't recover a deleted folder.

📘

You can prepare downloads up to 50 times per day. If you delete the 50th folder, you can prepare a new one.
