Create folder

To create a folder:

  1. In Data, click Create folder.
  2. Type a folder name.
  3. Click Create.

❗️

  • A project can’t contain more than 500 folders.
  • You can't create subfolders.

Upload data to folder

Pixel Projects and Vector Projects

To upload data in a folder in Pixel Projects and Vector Projects:

  1. In Data, go to the folder.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Choose the data you want to upload. You can upload images, videos, or pre-annotations.
  4. Follow the steps: image upload, video upload, pre-annotations upload.

📘

When you open the editor from a folder, the image panel shows the folder’s images only. When you open the editor from the root folder, the image panel shows the root folder’s images only, excluding the ones in folders.

🚧

You can't upload more than 50,000 items (images, videos, and documents) to a folder or a root folder.

Video Projects

To upload videos to a folder in a Video Project:

  1. In Data, go to the folder.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Attach video URLs. Learn more.

Document Projects

To upload documents to a folder in a Document Project:

  1. In Data, go to the folder.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Attach document URLs. Learn more.

A folder can’t contain more than 50,000 items (images, frames, videos, and documents).

Copy folder

To copy a folder:

  1. In Data, select a folder.
  2. Click Copy.

🚧

  • You can copy only one folder at a time.
  • You can't copy a folder to another folder.

Rename folder

To rename a folder:

  1. In Data, hover over the folder and click the edit button.
  2. Type a new name.
  3. Click Save.

Assign folder

You can assign a folder to one or multiple Annotators and QAs. After assigning a folder, only assigned users will be able to request images from that folder.

To assign a folder:

  1. In Data, select a folder.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Choose a user or multiple users from the drop-down list or type their name(s) in the search bar.
  4. Click Apply.

🚧

  • You can assign only one folder at a time.
  • Only Team Owners, Team Admins, and Project Admins can assign folders.

To assign a folder from inside a folder:

  1. In Data, go to the folder.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Choose a user or multiple users from the drop-down list or type their name(s) in the search bar.
  4. Click Apply.

📘

You can filter the drop-down list by user role. Select All, AN, or QA to refine your search.

  • All: The list includes all the team members. You can select Annotators and QAs only.
  • AN: The list includes Annotators only.
  • QA: The list includes QAs only.

❗️

  • An Annotator can't receive images from folders assigned to other Annotators.
  • A QA can't receive images from folders assigned to other QAs.
  • You can't assign folders to Team Owners, Team Admins, and Project Admins.

Unassign folder

To unassign a folder:

  1. In Data, go inside a folder or select a folder.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Click the X button next to the name of the user you want to unassign or click Remove all assignments to unassign all the users. They will also be unassigned from the images inside the folder.
  4. Click Apply.

❗️

When a user’s role is changed, their assigned folders become unassigned.

Find folder

To find a folder, go to Data and type the name of the folder in the search bar.

Delete folder

To delete a folder:

  1. In Data, select the folder you want to delete.
  2. Click the delete button.
  3. Choose Yes.
